BLOOD PRESSURE MEDICINES MAY WORK BETTER IF THEY ARE TAKEN AT NIGHT
The research results published in European Heart Journal demonstrates that medicine taken at bedtime compared with taking medicine in morning, night timer had lower risk of death from any cause, stroke, heart attack and heart failure.
Also has a benefit in improved kidney function and cholesterol levels.
The only possible understanding behind this could be that the hormone system that regulates blood pressure peaks during sleep, so medicine interact with our system during that time has better effect.
Nighttime diuresis might lead to poor quality of sleep in some patients counter these benefits and should be borne in mind. For such patients, diuretics should be used in the morning and any add-on drug given in the bed-time.
You should consult your doctor to discuss about your BP drugs.

Note: Anyone with a measurement over 130/80 mmHg is considered as High blood pressure, according to guidelines.
