SURROGACY IS NOT THE ANSWER FOR INFERTILITY

Surrogacy is "contract with a woman to carry pregnancy for another couple". It is legal in India. India is a major commercial hub for this business. Problem is there are two types of surrogacy.

In "gestational surrogacy", a woman with carry the embryo that is already fertilized by another couple through in-vitro fertilization, and this makes woman only gestational mother.

In "traditional surrogacy", a woman donates her egg and also carry the pregnancy for another couple - this makes the woman both genetical and gestational mother.

Imagine ethical, legal and emotional issues all parties will endure?

Another issue is illegal business of surrogacy. There are approximately 8000 clinics in India. Approximate fee for surrogate mother is $ 5000 or rupees 5 lakhs.

For desperate woman of poverty, this serves as a good source of income.
