AIR POLLUTION AND ATHEROSCLEROSIS
What is atherosclerosis?
Is a disease in which the inside of an artery narrows due to buildup of plaques. Due to narrow artery, the blood, nutrients and oxygen will be restricted to reach rest of body. Its lead to coronary artery disease and stroke etc..
So far what we know, the main factor behind atherosclerosis are such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and cigarette smoking.
But the recent studies show us due to air pollution the atherosclerosis are triggered.

Ambient particular matter (PM) smaller than 2.5 microns
The PM2.5 includes pollutants like sulfate, nitrate and black carbon, usually related to fuel combustion. which easily enter your lung and irritate lungs and blood vessels around the heart and believed it causes inflammation and causing plaques to rupture etc..
WHO estimate that around 7 million people die every year from exposure to fine particles in polluted air. WHO data shows 14 cities from India are listing in most polluted cities.
So it’s clear from recent studies that Air pollution is also an risk of Cardio vascular disease and stroke and lung diseases and cancer.

So what we are going to do for our future and for our generation?
