E-CIGARETTE: NEW AND DANGEROUS AMOUNT YOUNG PEOPLE
Millions of high school students think they're experimenting smoking. Those who vape believe (wrongly) they're making a safer choice. While just 14% of adults still smoke cigarettes, e-cigarettes are now targeting a new generation. 1 in 5 high school students are vaping and e-cigarettes deliver a higher concentration of nicotine than traditional smoking ever did. High school is a critical age – 90% of smokers tried tobacco for the first time before they turned 18. That's why Congress has introduced the Tobacco to 21 Act (H.R. 2411/S. 1258) in an effort to prohibit the sale of tobacco products in this country to anyone under age 21.
