According to Mayo Clinic, up to 400 mg of Caffeine a day ( 4 cups of brewed coffee or 10 cans of soda or two energy shots). Caffeine is used daily by millions of people (some studies indicate 80% of world population) to increase wakefulness, alleviate fatigue, and improve concentration and focus. Drinking more or with other drugs can have serious side effects such as Migraine headache
Insomnia, nervousness, irritability, restlessness, frequent urination or inability to control urination, stomach upset, fast heartbeat, muscle tremors. Caffeine withdrawal can start in 12 to 24 hours with severe headache, lethargy and restlessness. 

Decaf coffees and teas have less caffeine than their regular counterparts, but they still contain some caffeine. Decaf coffee typically has 2-15 milligrams in an 8-ounce cup.  s. 80-100 mgs in normal 8-ounce coffee.
