INCREASE IN ANTI-ANXIETY, ANTI-DEPRESSION AND SLEEP AIDS DURING COVID 19
Prescription for anti-anxiety, anti-depression and sleep medications have increased during pandemic leading to possibility of long-term addiction and abuse of drugs. Compared to the last year, there is over 10% increase in prescriptions sucha as Klonopin, Ativan and others. This is according to Monteffiore Medical Center in New York. This may be related health concerns, social isolation and fear of uncertainty.
